C.H.I.L.D. Ministries

The relationship between Bright Futures Christian School and Grace Foursquare Church begins with the Board of Directors.  This Board creates a unique bond of school and church under the umbrella of C.H.I.L.D. Ministries, a non-profit ministry of the church which is the backbone of our school, also operating as a non-profit entity.  The leadership needed is one of balance and vision; our Board does this well.

Phil Dodd, President (above)“I was born and raised in Whatcom County, Washington – North of Bellingham.  I went to college at Western Washington State College in Bellingham, where I met my wife, Carroll.  We have been married for 46 years, and have two children — Tim and Tracy. Both Tim and Tracy are married and live in or near Camas.  Tracy and our son-in-law, Frank, have blessed us with two grandchildren, Franky and Sammy, both of whom attend Bright Futures.  Tim and Dawn have no children, but they do have cats.

I had a 32-year career with the US Forest Service.  From 1990 until retirement in 1998, I served as Partnership & Community Assistance Coordinator for the Gifford Pinchot Nat’l Forest headquartered in Vancouver, WA.  The primary function of the position was to help the Forest and Communities acquire matching grants to fund projects and programs that would provide jobs for communities, as well as visitor programs and facilities in the Forest.

I was moved to serve on the C.H.I.L.D. Ministries Board through prayer, keeping in mind that my grandchildren are students at Bright Futures.  I believe I have the skills and experience to provide a positive contribution toward the growth of the school.
